Four Mile Canyon Rebuilding Land Use / Building Code Modifications: In October of 2010, the Land Use Department drafted new Land Use Code regulations that would create specific exceptions to the rules governing rebuilding, temporary structures, and Boulder County's BuildSmart program that apply only to structures damaged or destroyed in the Fourmile Canyon fire. The provisions can be viewed at Boulder County. Asbestos Update: The Asbestos Unit of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has detailed the requirements for dealing with homes damaged or destroyed by the fire. For complete details, please visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Contacts and Resources: The Boulder Fourmile Fire Recovery Center is available for all residents who lost a home or structure in the fire. The Center can help address questions on how to obtain copies of vital records that were destroyed, property assessment and taxes, health and safety issues such as ash and debris removal, land rehabilitation and revegetation, as well as direct assistance phone numbers. For full information, please visit Boulder Fourmile Fire Recovery Center.
